our body needs regular exercise to work properly. we feel good when we are active. in the past about hundred years back we had to be active to live our lives. now in the developed societies, most of our work is done by machines and our physical activity is decreased. we spend our major time by sitting in front of computers and eating high energy foods, putting us on high body weight.
low physical activity and high body weight impacting havoc changes to our health including anxiety , depression and cardiovascular diseases. results of different researches showed that with the modernization of societies number of deaths from cardiovascular diseases increased. in the western countries, where life of a person is very busy, people have no time for exercise that is why more the busy life, more the depression and more chances of emotional problems.
if you are doing routinely exercise or physical activity
* you are far away from anxiety and depression.
* you will feel good about yourself.
*your concentration on your work will be better.
*you will sleep properly.
* you will have more power to cope with office problems.
* there will be less chance of memory loss or dementia.
any exercise is better than nothing. moderate level of exercise about 30 minutes a day is much better for the initial ones but this should be done regularly. this will not only decrease the risk of cardiovascular diseases but also prevent you from anxiety and depression. do not increase physical activity suddenly but do this gradually and in small steps.
with the regular physical activity you should have to modify your dietry pattern. limit fast foods and bakery items from your diet. add fresh vegetables and fruits in your diet because they are antioxidants and contain many vitamins and minerals that are important for body and brain.
if you are active it will be easier for you to deal with your problems. for mild depression exercise is far better than anti depressants or cognitive behaviour therapy. even though most of the doctors prescribe exercise for boosting your immune system. exercise can be by playing sports or by simply walking or jogging, but it depends on you that what will you choose.
remember this that no one is perfect. initially you will feel too tired or you will think that you are not achieving your goals. recognise it and do not worry, it will take a time to show you its effects. also remember that short term setbacks do not matter in front of your long term benefits. physical activity for the nourishment of mind is as important as that of food.
